Welcome to the Blackburn Kendo Club, a division of Australian Kendo Dojos.
AKD is one of the few clubs in the world that studies and trains in the older style of Kendo called Kan Shin Ryu, one that predates the Second World War, a style that was almost lost after the Second World War. Whilst still a sport, Kan Shin Ryu holds on to the long lost traits that the Samurai trained in centuries ago.
Each of our Dojos has its own unique characteristics, whether it be the size of the hall, the intensity of the training, or the people you’ll meet there. Everyone is welcome to come an join our friendly club.

Kendo is for all ages of men, women and children from 8 years of age.
Most people who start Kendo have never practiced a martial art before and with our Kendo Beginners Course you will learn the basic principles to the martial art of Kendo.
The beginners course is just $78.
